MEET TONY

Tony has over 30 years of experience working in the area of sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. This work has ranged from the elite sport setting working with athletes and teams at Olympic, international and national level, all the way through to every day people (just like him) who through misadventure and for misplaced self-confidence, damage themselves!

Tony's elite sport experience has been somewhat varied. He has been working with the Australian Olympic canoe Slaton program based in Penrith for 20 + years. He was part of the team for the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games. For 17 seasons he was Penrith Panthers' NRL physiotherapist. His roles were that of Head Physiotherapist Rehabilitation Coordinator and Head Trainer, The experience of being present and responsible for such a vast array of injuries from the moment they occurred through the rehabilitation and getting the athlete back to play gives Tony's unique insight to this process. He also had seven seasons as physiotherapist to Cricket NSW Youth and Colts programs, Tony has had the opportunity to work with some of our current Test cricketers during their formative years. This also provided the chance to work with some of the country's best coaches that assisted in an in depth understanding of cricketing injury.

Tony has also had the opportunity to be involved in projects at this elite sport level. These have both been the surveillance and analysis of training loads; and the effects that these have on both performance and injury risk. This field is forever evolving and Tony uses it as part of his management of injured clients and in the formulation of training programs he writes for both seasoned athletes or those just starting out.

When not working you will find Tony cooking, training in his backyard gym or

begrudingly riding his mountain bike (wishing his knees were 20 years younger). He's also clearly a The Gentleman (& Guy Ritchie) movie fan having watched it far too many times (and has the tracksuit to prove it!)
